Sempre gostei do Harry Potter, embora não tenha lido todos os livros, mas agora virei fã deste grupo de adolescentes, liderados por Isadora (a garota da foto) que teve a iniciativa de traduzir em 6 dias algo que no Brasil será disponibilizado apenas em novembro.
Este fato teve muita repercussão na mídia, porém em muitos casos estes jovens foram criticados por terem praticado um ato que alguns chamam de "pirataria".
A própria editora Rocco, reconheceu, sabiamente, que esta cópia disponibilizada na Internet não atrapalhará as vendas, aliás, nem é preciso entender de marketing para perceber que esta mobilização pode inclusive contribuir com a divulgação do livro e conseqüentemente aumentar as vendas. Mesmo assim alguns sites e revistas insistem em abordar negativamente esta iniciativa.
Se acessarmos o site do projeto e a comunidade no Orkut, veremos que este movimento formado por fãs do bruxinho e compradores de todos os volumes, não têm nenhuma intenção lucrativa e nem mesmo de diminuir as vendas dos livros, inclusive sugerem que os leitores comprem o livro original.
Outro aspecto interessante é que em vários depoimentos que li na Web, os jovens explicam que esta atitude também foi um protesto contra a demora na tradução oficial. Mostraram que se eles conseguem mobilizar um grupo de adolescentes no Brasil e outros lugares do mundo para traduzir um livro em 6 dias, por que a equipe oficial (se é que podemos chamar de equipe) precisa demorar tanto?
Alguns profissionais preocuparam-se em criticar os erros português da tradução e enfatizar as vantagens de ler o livro original. De fato, a preocupação com a Língua Portuguesa também foi destacada pelo próprio grupo que ainda pretende melhorar a versão que está on-line, porém desvalorizar esta ação por conta disso é desconsiderar todo o restante e principalmente a inteligência destes jovens que até mesmo têm suas ressalvas com relação as traduções oficiais.

Ou seja, a tradutora também poderia aprender com eles como trabalhar em equipe e utilizar os recursos da Web para mobilizar diferentes profissionais.
